Fitness and health has played an integral part of my journey and life in Roxburgh. It has helped with my physical and mental wellbeing.

​

Netball and Squash were my sports I enjoyed at Roxburgh Area School. After moving to Hamilton to further my Squash career, I was fortunate to be coached by well-known New Zealand Squash coaches. The coaching helped me to reach A1 grade and Top 8 placing at the New Zealand National Women's Squash Tournament for two consecutive years.

Fitness and health has always been a big part of my life. It has helped with my mindset and overall wellbeing.

 

I have been fortunate to perform at a representative sporting level in Athletics, Rugby and Rugby Sevens. Work ethic and knowledge from my previous coaches contributed towards my proudest sporting achievements where I was part of the Under 21's New Zealand University Rugby, New Zealand Secondary Schools Condor Rugby Sevens and Waikato Rugby Sevens teams.

We are both currently teaching at Roxburgh Area School. Our learning subjects include Physical Education and Health. We wanted to use a gym to help teach the anatomy and exercise physiology. Given our rural location, we were limited and our nearest commercial gym was in Alexandra.

​

Unfortunately, there was no space to create a gym at school with cardio and weight machines. We were both travelling to one of the commercial gyms in Alexandra but we both had enough of the travelling. This is when we decided to create an exercise space in Roxburgh.

​

We thought a fitness and health gym would benefit our students but decided to create a space for everyone. This is how Hub Fitness evolved. We are now creating a HUB for everyone.

​

We are both passionate about living a healthy lifestyle and are firm believers that a gym should be a safe place to exercise. We have created a HUB and hope you all can experience the several benefits it has to offer to your physical, mental and overall wellbeing.
